Fred and Tong Fenig
Back“Thank you so much for the picture. It is a great picture and shows how cute the babies are. I also think it shows our happiness. We went for a checkup at BNH Hospital today and the babies are fine. We are going back next month for another checkup and an eye test. The babies are great.
Here is our story:
We are Fred Fenig and Tong Fenig. We are a married couple who have been together for 3 years. Fred is from the United States and Tong is from Thailand.
From the start of our relationship we knew we wanted to have children. After trying for a year with no results we went to the hospital and talked with a fertility specialist. First they recommended IUI but that did not work. Then they recommended IVF but that did not work either. We were so disappointed. We waited awhile and decided to try IVF again. Unfortunately that did not work the second time either. We were devastated.
We returned to the United States to think things out. Then a miracle happened and Tong got pregnant. We were elated and saw the doctor and did everything he told us. In spite of our best efforts Tong had a miscarriage after 3 1/2 months. Now we were totally devastated.
We researched the subject and decided to try surrogate birthing. We did not know if it would succeed but we had no more options. We contacted New Life Thailand from the United States. We emailed them, telephoned them, and called them on Skype. They were extremely helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable. Our main contact was a woman named Premchit who helps new clients. New Life sounded good and we returned to Thailand to see them in person.
Our first live meeting was very helpful. We discussed all aspects of surrogate birthing. There was no rushing. All of our questions were thoroughly answered and we felt a glimmer of hope. We then picked out the Egg Donor and the Surrogate Mother(SM). We told Premchit we wanted twins and the gender was not important. All we wanted was happy and healthy babies.
Shortly after that Fred gave sperm and it was fertilized with the egg donor’s eggs and implanted into the SM. We were then told the SM was pregnant. We were elated. We had to return to the United States but New Life kept us totally informed. Every 2 or 3 weeks we would get an update on the babies’ progress. Every update was positive and told us how the babies’ were developing. They even sent us the MRI images. Their updates were definitely the highlight of our day.
The babies were due in November, 2013 so we returned to Thailand in October to prepare for their arrival. We purchased strollers, diapers, baby bottles and every thing else we could think of. Then the good news came: The babies would be delivered November 8, 2013. The babies were born at 8:30 in the morning and we first saw them a few hours later. They were beautiful. They were happy and healthy and everything was fine.
A few days later we took them home. They eat and they sleep and they make us happy. We hope we make them happy. We are doing our best. We took them to the hospital for their 10 day checkup and they are still happy and healthy. Next month we go back for their 1 month checkup.
None of this would have been possible without New Life. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. You have changed our life for the better and have brought us the beautiful babies that we hoped and prayed for.”
